Beauty as “Interesting Objects”
The fact that we have beauty and sublime together in the Third Judgment of Kant signifies the purposiveness and greatness of the beautiful. Postmodern art plays with purposivness in a way that it loses the companionship of the “sublime”. Also, postmodern lifestyle passes the paradox of subjectivity/objectivity and “objectifies” the beauty and reduces it to “interesting object”. “Interesting object” is a kind of representation which provokes “instant joy”. It is represented in media and has the function the same as the beautiful. Also “interesting object” achieves its aesthetic sense through two features; it is always unbelievable and it is always possible.
